I am incredibly disappointed. I have a bone to pick and a forum from which to descry the ineptitude and irresponsibility which is To put it another way, they suck as badly as it is possible for an E-tail shoe store to suck. Al Bundy would be an improvement to their sales team.

My fiancee (soon to be wife) needed a pair of hiking boots for our honeymoon in New Zealand. We looked the old fashioned way, and 3 different brick and mortar shoe stores were unable to provide the right boot for her size 5 1/2 foot. So we went online, and found the right pair of boots, “available” in the right size, for a good price. And with free shipping! El yay.

So I placed the order, received an on-screen confirmation with the promise of an email confirmation to come. No email came. I check my spam folder, and still no email. My credit card was charged – a total of $158.99. I waited three days, and when I still had received no word I called the customer service line. I was told that the order had been placed and received, and that it normally takes 10 days to fill an order and ship it out. The customer service rep said that my email had most likely been placed in spam by accident. She promised to re-send the email, and suggested that I check my spam folder. Great.

So, I kept an eye on my inbox for the rest of the day. No email. I checked my spam folder repeatedly. No email.

Oh well, they said it would take a little while for the shoes to arrive. So I waited. I waited for 12 days. No email. No tracking number. Nothing. So I called again.

I spoke with a woman who informed me that the shoes I had ordered were out of stock. At this point I have paid $160 for boots. I’ve waited more than 3 weeks. My honeymoon is now less than 2 weeks away. I’ve received no emails from the company. I was told, in person over the phone, that my shoes were on their way. They have my money. I have no shoes.

Enough I told her. Forget it, please refund my money. And that is when I learned that it takes 30 days to process a refund. A refund for an item I never received, an item that is not available. So I ask for a supervisor. A supervisor was unavailable, so I asked for a call-back. Guess what happened.

I hate They are evil, smelly, and despicable. They deserve less than a 1 rating, but this blog is called 1to10reviews so I cannot give them a lower mark. It just wouldn’t make sense.


So I am making it my mission to join every review website and rating website I can find to give them a poor ranking. The have created an enemy in me, and I will shout from every rooftop available to me that they have terrible customer service, lousy communication, they steal money without providing goods or services, and they should be run out of business as quickly as possible.

I’ve threatened to submit companies to the BBB, but this is the first time I actually did it. It feels good. I am still looking for more review sites. If anyone knows of any good ones, please leave a comment and let me know.



According to the most recent comment, seems to be out of business.  When I visit the webpage it seems to be down.  I’d like to think that I had a little something to do with it.  🙂

I don’t know if I really had anything to do with it, but I sure feel vindicated.

    Respectfully, I disagree.

    This company has taken my money, did not give me my shoes, and they are refusing to give me my money back. I think it’s totally appropriate to go on a mission, and it is well worth my time.

    I think you’re comment that I “need to get a life” is unwarranted and without context. For all I know you work for their company. In which case you can go “piss up a rope.”

    Dude, I totally support what you are doing and I’m stoked that you are doing something about receiving poor customer service. Companies like this (especially faceless, internet ones) take advantage of their customers by making a quick buck and then pushing the consumer to the back burner.

    I’ve had experiences like you described and I’ve wanted to pull my hair out over them, but I never got around to blowing the whistle on them. If it weren’t for people like you watching out for the rest of us, all companies would be trying crap like that. Anyway, I’ve always wondered how effective the BBB and other consumer protection/advocate groups can be and I’m curious what they’ll do with your complaint.

    Good thing I don’t need any new shoes right now.

    Hey Mike D.U. – thanks so much for your comment and your support. I have decided to make it my personal mission to create as much negative buzz and press about this company as I can. I’m interested to see what the BBB does too. It may be nothing visible, but enough complaints might effect a change. We’ll see.

    Acually, I just find that people who behave in your manner need to find better things to do with thier time, maybe find a hobby or something of that nature. I often post comments like this to blogs to open peoples eyes.

    Sarah Amith would you please get my money back for my grand daughters shoes. My shoe store are just not responsive and they probably need to be investigated by a police agency for taking peoples money and not producing the goods. I would hope you don’t work for these people.

    I am glad to see someone taking a stand. I myself am going to be filing a BBB complaint against My experience with them was very similar to yours. I ordered shoes for work. After 2 weeks of no shoes and no correspondence from them, I contacted them. I was informed by the rep that I was rude. I could understand if I was swearing or raising my voice, but I simply had a complaint and wanted to know what they intended to do to resolve the issue. I finally told her to cancel my order and asked how long a refund would take. Her response was to hang up on me. When I called back and asked for a supervisor I was told the refund would take at least 30 days and then sent to voice mail. Needless to say, I have not heard from the supervisor or seen any hint of a refund. I also have decided to not let myself be a victim and have rated them at every opportunity. To those who say you need to get a life… Bull@#$%. Tools such as ratings sites are available so that other consumers may dodge a bullet. To not speak up is to sit back and watch another consumer take it in the shorts while a dishonest company gets to keep their good name, and rating.

    I ended up calling my credit card company to dispute the charge, and they credited me. Eventually my refund did come through from MyShoeStore. The whole transaction was a fiasco and a disgrace. I hope yours is resolved easily. Good luck my friend.

    I am in the middle of exactly the same situation with I too, ordered two pairs of Pedipede shoes for my daughter. When said shoes did not arrive after 2 weeks and no emails, I called and cancelled my order. I have yet to recieve my refund. How long did it take actually for you to recieve your money back? And by the way, kudios for taking the effort to spread the word about what sorry excuse of a business is!

    Thanks so much for your comment and support. I did finally get my refund back, and it did take over a month. I actually disputed the charge with my credit card company and they credited my account provisionally until MSS finally issued my real refund.

    I’m sorry you ended up in the same position; it does confirm to me that my time on this issue was well spent. Hopefully some people will get the word in time, before they get screwed.

    Wow! I wish I had come across this rating before I ordered from I ordered, they took my money, and then I waited. The same story, except I could never get a live person. I was put on hold and they kept telling me my call was important. After three attempts to find out about my order on line, I told them my next step was the state Attorney General’s office. Wow! The next day my bank account was credited. Did I mention that it was 6 wks. later. My shoes weren’t even sent out yet. I agree with everything you said and more.

    You won’t believe what I went through today because of this company. The worst part is, I think the hosting company is also involved in the scam. No relief! And we’re all out money.

    I suggest calling the Hampton, NH police department. And there is a CrimeLine Number in Hampton, too. Call 608-929-1222 and report this to investigative arm of Hampton Police.

    Thanks, David, for your comments. I did receive a reply from their online customer service (their term, not mine) representative. They are issuing a credit, but I’ll believe it when I see it. I can’t believe they get away with this.

    I ordered my shoes in December 2007 and as of today May 28th I am still waiting for my refund. I have made it a point to call them every week and be a pain. I have even asked the girl who answers the phone how she sleeps at night ripping off so many people. I have contacted the BBB with no luck yet and the NH atty General. Hopefully I’ll get something back by the end of the year.

    Well the NH Atty General has got my refund back for me.If you haven’t filed a complaint with them go to there web site and do so.
